English and Language Arts (ELA)

English and Language Arts on the elementary level sets a foundation of reading, writing, and communication skills that students will carry and build in school and everyday life.
At Chipperfield we work hard  for the success of all student's in reading and writing; SASD strives to have all students' reading on or above grade level through their academic years and upon/after graduation. 

Each elementary level (K-4) has a different fundamental piece of getting students ready for this kind of success, they will go from learning letters and their sounds to writing and presenting book reports.
